In 2022, I collaborated with Girraphic to lead a full design refresh of the ABC Australia election graphics package. My role encompassed art direction, creative project management, and hands-on design and development.
I was responsible for the complete visual overhaul of the insert package and touchscreen interfaces. Additionally, I designed and built all augmented reality graphics in Vizrt, creating dynamic 3D data visualizations for the live broadcast. The project was a technical and creative partnership, with Girraphic’s Sydney team handling the data integration and final implementation, ensuring a seamless and robust on-air result.
Virtual Floor:
Vizrt integration.
For ABC’s election broadcast, I designed and animated a dynamic 3D virtual floor in Vizrt, synced to a physical LED floor in the studio. This system displayed real-time Australian election results across states and territories, while serving as the foundation for augmented graphics. The transition logic seamlessly switched between national and state-level data views, creating a cohesive visual platform for the network’s coverage.
